A slow-moving line of strong thunderstorms is moving through the region and could bring intense lightning, wind gusts of up to 30 mph and heavy rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
A special weather statement was issued for most of northeastern North Carolina and the southern portions of Suffolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.
