This latest patch includes a long list new fixes and changes. These are described in detail in the latest DPS Smart Book will can be reviewed at http://www.move.mil/documents/PPSO/DPS_Smart_Book_v25.pdfVersion 25 was released on September 30, 2011 – just prior to installation of the latest DPS “enhancements”.
Also, beginning Oct 1, 2011, an External Certificate Authority (ECA) will be required, for users who don’t have a Common Access Card (CAC) or Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) provided by the government, in order to access SDDC systems through Electronic Transportation Acquisition(ETA). According to Daycos News, only 56.3% of users are ready for the mandatory usage of digital certificates.
You have to wonder how successful this latest iteration of DPS will be with just a little over half of all transportation service provides ready to access the problem-plagued household goods procurement system – especially since a new performance rating period starts on October 1.
