Dave’s Discount Furniture is leaving east Burlington.
Owner David Morton said on Friday that Saturday, May 21, would be the store’s last day on North Church Street. Morton has been in business there for 24 years.
On Memorial Day, Morton said, he’ll reopen in Holly Hill Mall and Business Center under a new name, Dave’s Furniture Decorators Warehouse, and with a new focus — on medium to high-end furniture.
Dave’s will occupy the space in the mall once occupied by Goody’s family clothing.
The phone number will still be 336-227-4880.
IN OTHER MALL news, Bouncin’ Around has changed locations within the mall.
Owner Chris Faircloth’s business has moved into the former arcade space between Hursey’s BBQ and Hibachi Grill. There's a new bounce area and the party rooms and game rooms have been redone.
Faircloth has been open since January 2010.

TRISH AND SCOTT King have started a new T-shirt company called It’s Good to Bee.
They sell T-shirts, visors and other items emblazoned with phrases like It’s Good to Bee a Teacher or It’s Good to Bee a Sister.
“It’s good to be whoever you are,” Trish King said.
They are selling the items, along with locally made honey, at www.itsgoodtobee.com and at their salon, F. Scott’s, at 202 S. Gurney St. They are also selling at events, like a family fun day held at Vesuvio’s Pizzeria on Saturday. Such events will also benefit a local cause — non-perishable food items were collected for Loaves & Fishes on Saturday.
