News from Travel Technology Update: Amadeus is moving into a global structure of three customer-facing commercial business units that will report directly to president and CEO Luis Maroto.
The company also has made some changes in the marketing department.
VP-marketing and distribution Ian Wheeler and global corporate marketing director Edward Ross left the company at the end of September.
It was not clear whether or how they would be replaced.
The moves are the first structural changes at Amadeus since Maroto took the helm of the company at the beginning of the year.
The three business units are distribution, led by Holger Taubmann; airline IT, which will continue to be led by Julia Sattel, and a “new business” unit that will help incubate Amadeus’ emerging businesses. It will be led by Francisco Pérez-Lozao Rüter.
Taubmann was vice president for northern, eastern, central and southern Europe. (Western Europe is handled by Angel Gallego.)
Pérez-Lozao joined Amadeus in 1993 as market manager for Europe. He has held various positions in strategy and business development and took full responsibility for strategy in 2009.
