OGDEN — A 2-year-old boy fell out of a moving vehicle and died Tuesday afternoon.
Ogden police said that the boy somehow got out of his car seat and climbed out of the SUV when it was stopped at the 24th Street intersection on Monroe Boulevard. The mother, who was driving at the time, saw the boy open the car door and turned around just in time to watch him fall out of the car. She immediately stopped the vehicle, according to Ogden police Lt. Tony Fox.
It is unknown whether the boy was run over by another vehicle, but he was badly injured and died at the scene.
An ongoing investigation will determine if the boy was properly secured in his seat before the mother began driving.
