Dubai: Expatriates working in the private sector can change jobs without completing the two-year compulsory period with the present sponsor if the job offer comes from government or semi-government establishments.
The clarification came in an exclusive interview with Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Dubai. He answered readers’ questions filed on gulfnews.com.
Al Merri also said expatriates must obtain residence visas for newborns within a 120-day period from their birth.
