ANNAMRIE CHESTNUT ADVANCES TO SEMIFINALS, MOVES ONE STEP CLOSER TO $1 MILLION PRIZE

Royersford's Annamarie Chestnut, owner of Annamarie's Place, is in the semifinals of the Macy's Million Dollar Makeover with Clinton Kelly contest. Vote now at www.facebook.com/macys.
A local businesswoman vying for the opportunity to win $1 million in prizes which will make her dream of opening an additional Royersford eatery come true was recently named a semi-finalist in Macy’s makeover competition.

Annamarie Chestnut, owner of Royersford breakfast and lunch eatery Annamarie’s Place, was selected as one of four semi-finalists still in the running for its “Million Dollar Makeover with Clinton Kelly” contest.

Facebook users vote online for the contestant they believe should win $1 million worth of products, services, cash and experiences that will transform the winner’s life.

Recently learning that she was a semi-finalist in a video message from Clinton Kelly, co-host of TLC’s style program, “What Not to Wear,” Chestnut said she was “stunned” that she was selected as one of the lucky remaining contestants.

“I was stunned, I was convinced I was going to lose,” she quipped.

To catch the Chestnut family’s reaction of the news, Macy’s crews set up a computer screen, cameras and more in their Limerick home for the moment that Kelly announced the results, she said.

When Kelly’s message appeared on the computer screen announcing the results, the realization what occurred did not set in right away, she said.

“The shock. I was like, ‘Thank you, this is great,’” she said.

About an hour after receiving the news, Chestnut began “jumping and screaming,” excited that she was moving forward in the competition.

Although Macy’s officials have been tight-lipped about the contest details, Chestnut has learned a little about what the prize entails.

The grand prize is not a $1 million check or cash, but will be an award individually tailored for the person competing in the contest, she said.

For Chestnut, that means she will be able to open a dinner restaurant in the community that Annamarie’s Place has called home for more than 16 years, a goal she has aspired to do for a number of years.

After discovering the award is something that will benefit Royersford and make her dreams come true, Chestnut is hoping she is crowned the winner.
