BROWNSVILLE - Traffic is moving freely again on Southmost Drive in Brownsville.
Cars had to drive around a portable building that was dumped in the middle of the road Wednesday afternoon. The building fell off the back of a trailer after hitting a tree. It blocked two street lanes for nearly an hour at the corner of Southmost and 20th Street.
The building was being hauled on a small two-axel trailer and was not strapped down. A moving company had to pick up the building and haul it away.
“This guy never strapped it down, never did nothing. I mean he just picked it up and you can't move a storage room with a little trailer. That's why it went down I think,” says Joe Bettancourt.
Police say the man who was trying to haul the building will be cited for not securing the load. He will also be cited for driving without a license or insurance.
