MANILA, Philippines?A furniture shop worker who was going about his business Wednesday afternoon probably got the shock of his life when the contents of a plastic bag that was thrown out from a moving jeepney toward him turned out to be fetus.
Rudy Bautista, a worker of a furniture shop at the corner of Pedro Gil and Mercer streets in Paco, Manila picked up the plastic bag to dispose of it in a trash can when he noticed blood on it.
Out of curiosity, he opened the bag and discovered an eight-month-old male fetus inside.
Police Officer 2 Ramoncito Tolentino of the Manila Police District homicide section, said Bautista made the discovery at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tolentino said that before the incident, Bautista was working at the furniture shop when he noticed a person onboard a passing PUJ hurl a plastic bag with something inside in front of his workplace.
He immediately reported his discovery to the police and the fetus was brought to the St. Yvan funeral parlor for safekeeping.
Personnel of the MPD homicide section are conducting follow-up operations to identify the person responsible for discarding the fetus.
