BRISTOL, Va. -- It won't be long until the sidewalks of State Street are packed with race fans, but right now it's mostly filled with lots of construction and equipment.
The Bristol, virginia light pole project continues downtown and workers are still out trying to get the project ready for Bristol's Rhythm and Roots.The sidewalks have been blasted with construction for several weeks and while the construction will probably still be around next week for the race, workers say they're making good progress.\"We got all the pipe in, Acorn Electric's pulling the wires," said construction worker Tim Drinnon. "We're going back through patching the concrete we tore out, and I'd say in the next couple days we'll be setting up the post. It ought to be coming together pretty quick."The project is an effort to make both sides of State Street look uniform with decorative light posts.
