Moving Truck And Van Rental Tips

Renting a truck? Follow these hints to make your move a whole lot easier and safer:
One key to a stress-free move is how you pack your truck-placing items correctly inside the truck will make the ride smoother and unloading a whole lot easier.
Plan your move mid-week instead of a weekend. This ensures better truck availability, and usually a better price, too.
Always load the heaviest items first. This helps keep the truck stable on the road.
Load the truck one quarter (1/4) at a time, packing it securely from floor to ceiling. Secure each quarter with rope tied to your truck’s tie-down rings.
Place bureaus, large china cabinets, sofas, refrigerators, and other heavy appliances against the front wall of the truck. Use protective covers and furniture pads on sofas and mattresses. Then load chairs, tables, bookcases, and light items toward the back.
Stand large, flat items like mirrors, mattresses, tabletops, and box springs upright against the truck’s walls and tie them down securely.
Wrap mirrors and pictures with protective pads or use a special mirror carton and store them on end (never store mirrors flat).
Stack lighter boxes on top of bigger, heavier ones.
Transport valuable papers and other items with you so they are not lost or damaged.
